Two women were struck and killed by trains in Manhattan and Brooklyn Monday morning, police said.
A 40-year-old was hit in the Upper West Side by the downtown 
train at the West 79th Street station about 10:30 a.m., authorities said.
Cops said she was lying on the roadbed before she was struck. The train operator hit the brakes to avoid her, but wasn’t able to stop in time.
Police said there is no criminality, but it was not immediately clear why she was on the tracks.
Her name was not immediately released.
A woman also died after she jumped in front of a southbound 
train in East New York’s Pennsylvania Avenue station, shortly before 6:55 a.m., authorities added.
She has not been identified, but is believed to be in her thirties.
No criminality is suspected.
