Ongoing, right now: the 6:19 PM/Oyster Bay cancelled for no train because the equipment broke down e/b at Queens Village and those passengers were put on the next train an hour later. But the next train after the 6:19 from Oyster Bay is an 8:19, 2 hours later. No bus service was offered as a substitution between Oyster Bay and Mineola. Whenever a train is cancelled on the Montauk or Port Jeff branches, they get buses out there. I guess the Oyster Bay branch doesn't rate. Evening plans ruined for people, some have to get to work as this is a 24 hour area. I know ridership is low there but they are giving the potential riders the royal shaft. Plus, the MTA web site posted this at 7:30 PM.
The Oyster Bay Branch: LIRR's forgotten branch. There is no alternative transportation there at all, except your car!
