Westbound service on the Long Island Rail Road was suspended early Friday evening due to what appeared to be a collision between two trains. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Jamaica station, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said. The not immediately confirm a report that two trains had been side-swiped, but a passenger told CBS2 two trains collided at slow speed. There were no reports of injuries.
Westbound LIRR service was suspended, while eastbound service was expected to be delayed or canceled.
Photos from the scene appeared to show two trains brushing up against each other, and a broken window.
