One may think that that the MTA is not doing enough to improve local bus travel these days but I happened to come across a study into Northeast Queens bus service that the MTA recently published. Just like the one they did for Co-op City about a year ago they looked into ideas on how to improve service and used their data they gathered to rule in or out the various ideas that were offered. If anything happens to come out of the NE Queens analysis it would be great for an area that heavily relies on local buses. I personally feel that more parts of the city should have their bus service looked into like this. I'll link the study here and I would like to hear what the transit minds on this board would do with the service on various routes in the area.
