Well the latest capital plan came out and there are a few things that are quite interesting that is going to be happening for the next few years. I'm only going to point out the major stuff like bus deliveries and depot plans. First, let me start of with what we already know:
Delivery of 628 diesel buses (to begin delivery 2016-17)
Delivery of 138 CNG buses (to begin delivery 2016-17)
Replacement of the Jamaica Depot with a new Jamaica depot.
Now let's see what is happening in the next few years. For NYCT:
Delivery of 75 standard Hybrid Electric buses (saw this before but never mentioned here; to begin delivery 2018-19)
Delivery of 190 Diesel Articulated buses (to begin delivery 2016-17)
Delivery of 50 express buses (to begin delivery 2019?)
Delivery of 110 CNG Articulated buses (Yep, CNG in the bold, to begin delivery 2016-17)
Modify the ENY and Grand Avenue depots to be able to handle articulated buses.
Component rehabs in the Yukon, Manhattanville, Gun Hill, Fresh Pond, Grand Avenue, Queens Village, Casey Stengel, and Zerega depots
Now for MTA bus:
Delivery of 53 Articulated buses (to begin delivery 2017-18)
Delivery of 292 express buses (to begin delivery 2017-18)
Rehab/upgrade Spring Creek and College Point Depots
Component rehabs in LGA and Baisley Park depots
Onboard audio visual PH 2
Both companies will feature automated passenger counting pilots coming in 2016 for NYCT and 2018 for MTA bus.
Please note that I read all this info in the capital plan and all is subject to change.
