Major Highlights:

M23 SBS Implementation (Page 114-Page 118)

Implementation of M23 with several stop changes. Slated for Fall 2016. Will increase operational costs by $1.7 million.

X28 Weekend Restoration (Page 119-Page 122)

Restoration of X28 weekend service slashed in 2010. Weekend service will run full time to Coney Island and Sea Gate. Slated to be restored in September 2016. Will increase operational costs by $688,000 annually.

Q70 SBS Implementation (Page 135-Page 139)

Implementation of SBS service on Q70 for Fall 2016. Will increase operational costs by $870,000 annually ($135,000 will go towards machine maintenance, $5,000 for collecting fares, and $730,000 for Eagle Team). With this change, the Q70 bus stop at Woodside will now be moved to where the Q53 stops at 61 Street and Roosevelt Avenue

Q65 Reroute in College Point (Page 140-Page 144)

Northbound buses will operate on 14 Avenue instead of 14 Road between College Point Blvd and 111 Street. Will be implemented in September. Cost neutral.

Q34 Reroute in Whitestone (Page 145-Page 150)

Northbound buses will operate on 31 Road and 139 Street, similar to the southbound buses. Service to 29 Avenue and 28 Road is discontinued. Northbound buses will now use Willets Point Blvd, 24 Road, and side road to get back onto Willets Point Blvd, instead of taking 25 Avenue, 150 Street, and Willets Point Blvd. Will take effect in September. Will decrease operational cost by $12,700 annually.

Q47 Reroute in Jackson Heights (Page 151-Page 155)

Southbound buses will use 78 Street, 30 Avenue, and 77 Street instead of turning onto 77 Street from 25 Avenue. Will take effect in September. Cost neutral.

Schedule Changes for September 2016 (Page 123-129) :

It will increase operational costs by $3 million annually

Local buses:

For most local bus services, the headways will decrease during at least during one of the rush hour periods. Although I do not know what the Bx44 bus is. The M20 though is seeing uniform 20 minute headways now, instead of several spots of 15 minute headways. The M86 will see slightly less frequent service on Saturdays. The Q31 will run on a uniform 30 minute headway on Sundays instead of having some periods where the headway is every 20 minutes.

Express buses:

For the express buses, the X1 is seeing slightly more frequent service in the evening. Most of the other Hylan Blvd variants will also see decreases in headway, primarily during the AM rush (the X9 is the only one that will go up during that time). There will be more X10 service in the evening, but at the cost of less AM rush service. The X17J will see a slight increase in headway in the AM rush, but a decrease in the PM rush. The X21 will see a PM rush decrease in headway, with buses running every 20 minutes instead of every 30 minutes.

The X63/64/68 will see trip time adjustments only.
