Read in am ny that groundbreakin has begun on a 1,400 Ft tower to be called 1 Vanderbuilt.
Directly across from Grand central terminal.
Now there will be $220M in transit investments to allow this such as new exits/entrances to the 4/5/6/S..Spacing out the mezzanine by destroying the basement of the above hyatt hotel..new concourse/tunnels to the future LIRR station and a pedestrian plaza bet 42/43 on vanderbuilt...Completion date of 2020...BEFORE the new Lirr station While this is good for business heres the problem...
Just how in the hell are the 4/5/6 gonna absorb about 70,000 New commutters between this new mega tower AND mega train station[emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]
Of course the 2 ave subway comes to mind and its just sad that were probably 20 years off from phase 3 which would bring the line into midtown...Just think how much more people
Are going to be on the eastside???? I smell a shit show mark my words!!...Given the Urgency of an Eastside subway All 4 phases shouldve been simultaneously started 10 or even 15 years ago...We would be opening up like 20 stations this December instead of 3. Just my observations on things.
