BRENTWOOD, N.Y. — One person was killed after a Long Island Rail Road non-passenger train struck a car in Brentwood Monday night.The unauthorized vehicle was hit by a train west of the Brentwood station around 8 p.m.Service was suspended in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma. By 9:30, the MTA had restored service.Commuters should expect delays of up to an hour as regular service resumes.No other details about the death were made available.
