I wonder why transit agencies never seem to use surface mass transit vehicles with 100% longitudinal seating nowadays, while most NYC subway cars have 100% longitudinal seating. I think 100% longitudinal seating on surface mass transit vehicles would provide more interior room; would it decrease seating capacity?
