Service was recently added on weekdays to have the bus run until 00:15. In speaking with a source, as I thought, they are tinkering with the BxM4. By having it run later, the thought process seems to be that they are trying to draw more riders and unfortunately they've alienated some riders. A big draw for the line could be hospital workers at Montefiore, but they've tinkered with service so much that some of those people have stopped using the BxM4, which is a shame because the BxM10 does very well in part due to the large ridership from Montefiore/Albert Einstein. From what I was told if ridership doesn't start to improve, serious cuts are being considered, and this was from a B/O who drives on the line. I've heard this from quite a few people. I'm just wondering if the union that represents the B/O's in Yonkers would make those sorts of serious concessions similar to what happened with Spring Creek? I don't see that happening which is part of the reason why I believe we haven't seen such severe cuts on the BxM4 and BxM3, in addition to political pressure.
