With the recent announcement of the new X21 express bus route for the South Shore of Staten Island, I can't believe on why they want to terminate the X21 at East 42 St and 1 Av instead of traveling up to East 57 St and 3 Av.
By terminating the X21 at East 42 St and 1 St, it won't attact riders at all and the route will fail, by terminating at East 57 St and 3 Av via Madison Av, Lexington Av and East 57 St, it will:
1)Increase ridership.
2)Give X5 riders along Richmond Av who want to get to Midtown desination north of East 42 St a faster ride via New Jersey and the Linclon Tunnel.
3)Reduce overcrowding on both the X5 and X17J.
4)Give X5 riders more serats available north of Richmond Av,
5)Give South Shore riders who board and Park at the West Shore Expwy and Arthur Kill Rd another NYCT express bus route.
6)Attact new customers.
