More than 1,200 New Yorkers have traveled beneath Second Avenue for monthly tours of the caverns that will eventually house the Second Avenue subway.
Only self-proclaimed transit nerd Adam Meagher can say this is where he popped the question, though.
"Just like New Yorkers, I've been waiting a long time for the Second Avenue subway. I have also been waiting a long time time to ask you this question, which is, 'Will you marry me?'" he asks.
His new fiance, Carolyn Grossman, is a fellow urban planner and subway aficionado who grew up in a building directly above the future 86th Street station of the Second Avenue subway.
And that's where she said "yes."
