My 4-Boro SBS Tour (Real test on M60 SBS)

Tuesday, May 27th.

I left house 8:00 and went to my neighborhood Rite Aid for Honest Tea Organic Juice.

I boarded LGA-bound Q72 #8920 departed Junction Blvd/37th Av at 8:27. It was male driver.

When I got off at 94th St/23rd Av at 8:38, I noticed LGA/Morningside Heights-bound M60SBS were waiting for light, so I got paper ticket from M60 machine which was marked NE instead of SW.

Total time on Q72: 11 minutes.

LGA/Morningside Heights-bound M60 SBS #5975 was also male driver and there were 4 male Eagle Team onboard the M60 SBS and departed at 8:41.

At Terminal D for Delta Airline, Eagle Team got off there. Even with Eagle Team, NYCDOT and MTA helping out, tourists coming off flights were confused as hell.

At Terminal C for Delta Airline-West Jets, it was same.

At Central Terminal were more chaos.

At Marine Air Terminal, nobody wasn't helping out.

At Ditmars Blvd/81st St station, one Hispanic like male was confused, but he got it.

At 77th St, no one.

At Steinway St station, few got confused but got it.

Same at 31st St station and this driver waited for TSP.

When bus was waiting at light at 125th St/2nd Av, there was one office lady with 3 male (properly MTA representative).

Got off at 125th St/2nd Av at 9:20.

Total time on M60 +Select Bus Service+: 39 minutes via LGA Airport.

 

After that, I hurried to 126th St Depot/2nd Av and got M15 SBS paper ticket.

I boarded South Ferry-bound M15 SBS #1259 departed 9:29, which was also male driver.

At 125th, wheelchair was waiting and I helped bus operator by putting up the seat.

At 106th St, MTA has reinstall M15 SBS machine, and elderly ladies on walker thought he was local bus and and she paid onboard the bus. Other lady couldn't understand. Two Asian elderly lady couldn't understand and were confused.

At 2nd Av/88th St, 4 male Eagle Team came onboard and elderly lady who didn't had M15 SBS ticket were given warning. Elderly lady with walker who used lift wasn't got kick out either.

1 Eagle Team officer stayed on bus and got off at 79th St station.

At 68th St station, confused again, then at 42nd St.

Got off at 2nd Av/33rd St at 10:15.

Total time on M15 +Select Bus Service+: 46 minutes.

Since I wasn't sure Science Business Library has dollar bills, so I asked at deli at 34th St/2nd Av to change $5 into singles and I said thank you.

I got M34 SBS ticket and I boarded PABT-bound M34A SBS #5848 departed at 10:19 with male driver, One tourist was confused with SBS payment and they paid before B/O warned.

Arrived 34th St/Park Av at 10:24.

Total time on M34A +Select Bus Service: 6 minutes.

I rushed into library and my friend, male security was there. When I went downstair, PC Reservation computer wasn't working, so I went upstairs and used catalog computer to make PC Reservation for 10:30, which was unlucky #4 in Electronic Center downstairs (#4 is unlucky number in Japan because in Japanese, it prounce "Shi (Shh)."

SBIL and 42nd St Library is only places you could make color print for $1.

I made colorful sign to help with SBS.

SBIL gave you 1-hour computer time.

After I finish, went to restroom and when I got off I saw M34 SBS bus was at Park Av, so I rushed to 34th St/5th Av, got M34 Paper Ticket and boarded Javits Center-bound M34 SBS #5863 at 11:43, which was male driver.

There was one lady with suitcase trying to pay on the bus, but when bus operator told her she has to get ticket, she said, "I don't want to miss the bus." properly referring to either MegaBus or BoltBus and male bus operator told her, "You'll get it ticket." 

Got off at 34th St/7th Av at 11:50.

After I bought NICE! Ministick at Duane Reade, I went to get new schedules for LIRR/NJT Trains, then headed to 32nd St/7th Av, where friendly male dispatcher was there.

 

I boarded Cloisters-bound M4 #XXXX departed at 12:20, which was male driver and arrived at Madison Av/34th St at 12:28.

Total time on M4: 8 minutes..

 

Next, I boarded Washington Heights-bound M2 LTD #6668 departed 35th St at 12:33. At 75th St, we passed Harlem-bound #6411 on M1, so got off at 79th St at 12:51.

Total time on M2 LTD: 18 minutes.

 

Next, I boarded Harlem-bound M1 #6411 at 12:53, got off at 83rd St at 12:56.

Total time on M1: 3 minutes.

 

Next after quick free lunch at MET Museum cafeteria, I went back to 5th Av/81st St around 14:30 with MET bag, and got on Penn Station-bound M4 #6417 which was male driver, and bus was crowded, but he was new driver, so he told me to don't put bags there but I told him I help with SBS and got on at 14:49, got off at 79th St because at 14:51 because I didn't feel like walking through MET construction maze.

Total time on M4: 2 minutes.

 

I got on East Village-bound M2 LTD #6417, my friend, male driver and departed at 15:05, arrived 5th Av/60th St at 15:15.

Total time on M2 LTD: 10 minutes.

As I headed toward 24-hour Apple Store to fix my clock using timeanddate.com to correct time, I yelled in loud voice, "DON'T TAKE RIDE ON HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR TOURISTS OR PEDESTRIANS SAFETY.".

After the Apple Store, I used restroom quick, and did same thing as I headed to 57th St-6th Av station.

At Grand Army Plaza, one of male carriage driver was texting on his phone and he didn't notice I was wearing NYCLASS's Ban Horse Drawn carriage shirt.

When I got to 6th Av, horse carriage industry tries to pursade me to change my mind to save them, but I didn't because I was almost run over by the horse drawn carriage. I still cannot forgive them at 59th St/Broadway, when I was waiting for downtown M7 bus, horse carriage driver blocked view of MHV bus operator and he missed me, so I reported to M20 bus operator, Quill Depot.

 

I got on front car of Coney Island-bound (F) #5456 departed 57th St-6th Av at 16:01, which was male T/O, then arrived 47th-50th Sts/Rockfeller Center at 16:03.

Total time on IND (F): 2 minutes.

 

Next I got on front car on Middle Village-bound (M) #8392 departed 16:05, male T/O, arrived at Marcy Av @ 16:25.

Total time on BMT (M): 13 minutes.

 

I rushed to Washington Bridge Plaza for B44 SBS ticket and boarded Sheepshead Bay-bound B44 SBS #5324 at 16:34, which was female driver.

I almost got off at wrong stop which I should know better since that stop has $1.00 pizza place.

As bus approached my stop, Nostrand Av/Fulton St, I asked Flatbush depot operator if lots of people are confused and she said yes. I said thank you, and got off at 16:50.

Total time on B44 +Select Bus Service+: 26 minutes.

I try deli, Indian restaurant if I could get plastic spoon, but Indian restaurant couldn't understand me, so I went to bakery and there was one man almost got away with paying less for his bakerly which store employee caught him. I said thank you as I got plastic soon and got on front car #6002 of Manhattan-bound (A) train departed Nostrand Av @ 16:57, which was male T/O and got off at Inwood-207th St at 17:49.

Total time on IND (A): 52 minutes.

 

Then I went outside to Broadway/Isham St and got Bx12 SBS Ticket and boarded Bay Plaza-bound Bx12 SBS #5798 (Not SBS brand bus) departed at 17:57 with male driver, arrived Fordham Rd/Washington Av at 16:19.

Total time on Bx12 +Select Bus Service: 22 minutes.

 

Then I went to Webster Av/Fordham Rd to get Bx41 SBS ticket and boarded overcrowded Hub-bound B44 SBS #5773 bus, male driver departed at 18:24.

At 170th St Station, man in wheelchair was trying to get on but, bus was already overpacked and he properly didn't got ticket yet.

At 167th St station, I thought bus operator was going to get assulated because bus operator closed middle door on child's face right in front of mother.

Male bus driver was still kind enough to give her run #, 117, properly to complaint to MTA.

GOt off at Melrose Av/150th St @ 18:41.

Total time on Bx41 +Select Bus Service+: 17 minutes.

 

It was so hot, I bought $1 Coconut Ice Cream at vendor and headed into 3rd Av-149th St, where I got on front car of #6615 on Flatbush Av-bound (5) departed at 18:50, arrived 125th St at 18:55.

Total time on IRT (5); 5 minutes.

 

Next, I rushed to 125th St/Lexington Av machine to get a paper ticket, where my female DOT remember me from Woodhaven SBS workshop and I went to PATHmark for quick shopping errand of Vintage Club Sodas and Organic Honest Tea to go.

After finishing with self check out, I thought Nova LFS arriving was M60SBS, but it was Bx15 bus.

 

I boarded LGA-bound M60 SBS #5985 departed at 19:22, which was female driver.

At 31st St, people and tourist got it quick with help from SBS representatives.

At Steinway St, one person got connfused.

At 77th St, no one and few got off.

No machine at 23rd Av/82nd St, no one at 87th St by LGA Bus Depot, and no one waiting at 94th St/23rd Av.

As bus return to LGA airport, Delta Airline, tourists were confused with my friends from SBS ambassador.

Same at Delta Airline-West Jets at Terminal C.

Got off at Central Terminal at 19:56.

Total time on M60 +Select Bus Service+: 34 minutes.

There was one SBS ambasaddor, so I went into shop again and nice Farmingdale employee gave me plastic spoon after I asked and used restroom quick and went back to bus stop. I let 3 Q72 buses go.

Since taxi driver were blocking the bus stop, I helped Q72, Q48, Q70, M60 SBS drivers from preventing to pass open door on bus.

At 20:25, Morningside Heights-bound M60SBS and Rego Park-bound Q72 #3739 came at same time, and SBS Ambasadoor got on M60SBS, and as I boarded Q72, which was male driver, "If you're going on M60, you must get your ticket from machine before boarding".

Then my bus Rego Park-bound Q72 #3739 departed at 20:26, arrived at Junction Blvd/37th Av at 20:50.

Total time on bus: 24 minutes.

 

I stopped by at Internet Cafe to fix my sign quickly.
