I was on the BxM2 this morning and as we came down the hill from Riverdale over to West 230th St & Tibbett Avenue, I noticed a "No Smoking" sign right on the bus shelter. It was located where they have the individual bus shelter ID number and it looked pretty official. I was thrown off by this because the bus shelters are located in an open space outside where smoking is permitted, so why would they post "No Smoking" signs on them? I thought it was rather contradictory and funny to say the least. Are they trying to prevent vandalism? Maybe people use the shelters to put their cigarettes?
