Just over a week after three New York City subway trains were taken out of service and fumigated, bedbugs have been reportedly found on other subway lines and in crew locker rooms.

Joe Costales, chairman of the conductor/tower division of Transport Workers Union Local 100, told the New York Daily News a No. 5 train was taken out of service on Friday following reports of bedbugs in a car.

On Wednesday, a subway rider on the 7 line called the Metropolitan Transit Authority to alert them about an alleged bedbug siting, according to Business Insider. An MTA spokesman said the authority is following up on the report.

These reports come after The Daily News said two N trains were fumigated on Aug. 3, followed by another N train on Aug. 5.

Bedbugs were also spotted in an N-train crew locker room in Queens, according to the newspaper. The MTA fumigated that locker room, and another in Brooklyn used by N — and Q — line crews, the Daily News said.

Adam Lisberg, a spokesman for the MTA, told Business Insider that it's simply "impossible" to check all the subway cars in New York City. But he said the MTA investigates any reported bedbug sightings "immediately and fumigate if necessary."
